1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website (Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR) is:
Parity (association in formation — Verein i.G.)
Represented by Laurenz Hegemann and Bennet Viertel
Alte Poststraße 34
54472 Monzelfeld, Germany
Email: info@parityinitiative.org
2. Overview of processing
We only process personal data that is necessary to operate this website and to process membership applications submitted through it. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising purposes.
3. Membership application form
When you submit the application form on this website, we process the following data: first name, last name, email address, school, year/grade, the position you are applying for, prior investing experience, and your motivation text.
Purpose: to review and process your application for membership.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the consent
checkbox before submitting the form.
Storage: your data is stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers
located in the European Union (Ireland). Data is kept for as long as necessary to process your
application and, if you become a member, for the duration of your membership; otherwise it is
deleted within a reasonable period after the application process has concluded.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@parityinitiative.org; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Applicants under 16
Many of our applicants are secondary school students. If you are under 16 years old, please ask a parent or legal guardian to review this policy and, where required by Art. 8 GDPR, to give or confirm consent before you submit the application form.
4. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by a third-party provider. Each time the site is accessed, the hosting provider's server automatically collects technical data (such as IP address, browser type, date and time of access) in server log files. This is necessary for technical delivery of the website and is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR) in the secure and stable operation of the site. Log data is typically deleted automatically after a short period.
5. Google Fonts
This website loads fonts ("Tinos" and "Archivo") from Google Fonts, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited. When a page is loaded, your browser connects to Google's servers, which may process your IP address. This is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR) in a consistent visual presentation. Further information: Google Privacy Policy. We are working towards hosting these fonts locally to avoid this external connection.
6. Cookies and local storage
This website does not currently set any cookies beyond what is strictly necessary for it to
function. It does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
If you select a language at the top right, we store that choice in your browser's local
storage so the site opens in that language next time. The entry is only set when you pick a
language, holds nothing but the value "en" or "de", is never transmitted to us, and can be
cleared in your browser settings at any time.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- request correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- request erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
- request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR)
- request data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- withdraw consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
- lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@parityinitiative.org.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as our website or applicable legal requirements change. The current version always applies.
